THE AVERAGE WOMAN WILL SPEND £26.5K OVER THEIR LIFETIME ON HAIR STYLING AND PRODUCTS

60% OF WOMEN WILL TAKE HAIR STRAIGHTENERS ON A BEACH HOLIDAY

A recent survey by Nicky Clarke has revealed that the average woman spends a whopping £26,500 over their lifetime on their hair, plus a year of their life styling it!

Yes, the UK is obsessed with hair; even men are spending more time and money on their hair, with one in five men spending up to £30 a month on styling products along with regular cutting and colouring.

As well as spending the equivalent of an entire year of our lives styling our hair and more than the average yearly salary over a lifetime, one in three women will also spend more than 40 minutes styling their hair when getting ready for a night out.

The average woman now owns at least three different styling tools with one in ten owning more than five and 60% admit to taking their straighteners with them to festivals and beach holidays.

Our hair also makes us late for work at least twice a year due to spending too much time styling it. A quarter of women also admit to spending money on their hair over food!

The most common hair problem for women is frizz with one in three struggling to tame their expanding hair on a daily basis. Damaged and fine hair are the other two major complaints when it comes to our hair.

Celebrity hairdresser Nicky Clarke OBE gives his top tips for these three main hair problems;

"Frizz is a common complaint from clients; it's down to managing and styling your hair.  Start by using the correct type of shampoos and conditioners, such as the Nicky Clarke Frizz Control range. You can also prevent frizz by preparing with the correct products in the drying and styling process. Use silicone based products as they discourage moisture absorption into the hair shaft."

"A great haircut is the key for fine hair to look its best. Styling and electrical products can create extra body and volume - Nicky Clarke Hair Raising Spray is especially effective on fine hair!"

"Damaged hair is best treated with regular haircuts. It's important to use the correct products and avoid certain chemical procedures. You can repair damage with intensive moisture treatments. New Keratin based treatment are also very good for damaged hair."

Nicky Clarke has a range of electrical styling products to help with these three common hair complaints. Choose from the Frizz Control, Detox and Purify and Hair Therapy ranges to help keep your hair looking fabulous this winter.
