Sheffield's Hottest Designers!

Faye, fashion and fun at the Walnut Club, Sheffield By Judith David

On the 15th of July 2009, Working Woman joined over 200 people at the Walnut Club on Ecclesall Road, Sheffield for a night of unbridled fashion. Judith David, Faye Yarnall & Christina Lima Trindade

As the lights dimmed, Sheffield's hottest designers hit the catwalk to showcase their exclusive collections. Some stunning models strutted their stuff and weaved themselves among the crowds to offer a closer look at what were truly beautiful and unique designs. Faye Yarnall of Faye PR who organised this event told us, "Sheffield is a real hotbed of creativity and innovation on the fashion front. The collection of clothes was simply ... stunning!"

Lots of ‘oohs' and ‘aahs' and "I would just die for that dress" could be heard coming from the ladies present...and several men were overheard whispering to their partner, "You would look great in that!"

As the evening wore on, guests were wined and dined with a fabulous three-course menu, provided by Jon Oates, Head Chef at The Michelin rated Walnut Club. As the catwalk poured out collection upon collection, the Walnut Club poured out the champagne!

The hot list of designers was made up of Alex Christopher, CollardManson, Ursula Pelt, Alice takes a trip, Lauren M, Harper Bow, Casius, Acapella Jewellery, Ann Michéle, through to the city's newest designers Jackie Mok and Yaelle Caplan. Collard Manson Anna Winnell Zara Manson

Not only were the clothes unique so were the hairstyles! There must be some truly great artists at hairdressers, Junior Lafayette and Halo, as they created hair ‘do's that were true works of art. Meanwhile, make-up artists Nicki Marshall and Sarah Louise, a former Hollyoaks make-up artist, dipped their brushes into their paint box and used colours that made eyes and lips look irresistible. As DJ's Pablo Clark and Jamie Moynahan pumped up the music volume for the grand finale, there was one more surprise for Sarah Naylor-Smith from Thurlstone who was delighted to win ‘The undiscovered student designer award' for her stunning gold oriental collection. Congratulations also go to all the finalists: Kate Tophill, Sarah Bond, Sarah Naylor-Smith and Jessica Oldfield for their beautiful and unique designs.

Working Woman Director and Founder, Christina Lima Trindade said, "Faye is a fantastic example of a successful working woman".  Faye set up her PR company, FayePR, in 2007 to offer a bespoke service to clients who want their brands to stand out and specialises in Beauty, Fashion, Lifestyle and Business-to-Consumer PR.
