Sheffield Working Woman conference 2009 is a knock out event

For many in the audience the useful tips on networking, delivered by speaker Jill White from Andy Hanselman Consulting, were a real eye opener!

Tina English, winner of the 2008 Barclays Bank Prestigious Award for Community Achievement by a UK individual, gave the audience a fantastic insight into how to approach banks for finance and raise cash when you need it most.

For many the most heart stopping moment was when Siobhan Bullock from City Hearts Sheffield, told the audience of the tireless work going on within the city to help women conquer serious life issues such as drug and alcohol addictions and even providing a refuge for women in trouble. Fiona Jagger of Entrepreneurs Ladder said, "I was so touched by the work undertaken by City Hearts that I just had to do something to help". True to her word, Fiona is now organising a 40-mile walk in Coventry, April 2010 to raise money for City Hearts. Men and women have already signed up to the walk; if you are interested please see below.

On a lighter note solo female artist, Philippa Hanna, sang a selection of songs from her second album ‘Taste' which was timed nicely to coincide with lunch being served!

Finally, no show for women would be complete without some fantastic handbags and hats! If you would like to check out the products and services showcased on the day from local tradesmen and women please see our further information section below.

If you would like to promote your business, tell your story of how you combine work with family commitments, or how you work for a non-profit organisation helping others we would love to hear from you.
