Dale Murray wins Angel Investor of the year
Dale wond Angel Investor of the year, at the British Business Angels Association (BBAA) awards.
The awards, which took place at the Museum of London on June 30th, focused on key areas of the market where angels have made investments, including angel-backed deals of the year in mobile; clean tech; med tech, social impact investment as well as Business Angel of the year.
BBAA recognised Dale, out of the three shortlisted, as an individual angel investor who can be shown to be a very active in start-up and early stage businesses in the past year.
Dale was identified as an investor who has not only brought her financial capacity to the businesses but provided clear added value to her investee portfolio, offering skills, contacts and mentoring to support successful growth and potential exit.
Dale, who has been angel investing since 2003, is a successful entrepreneur, manager of a start-up business and an investor in early-stage entrepreneurial businesses. Her geographic focus has been the UK, USA and New Zealand and industry focus has been Telecommunications, Media and Lifestyle.
Her most prominent business angel investment to date is the UK cult cosmetics company Pout. Dale was a Non-Executive Director of Pout and worked with the company as it grew its retail presence throughout Europe, USA and Australia in premium outlets such as Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Victoria's Secret. Dale helped sell Pout to a US venture capitalist in 2007 for £15 million. She has also invested in companies in fuel-cell technology, advertising and leisure.
